Red face a decent reliable graphic card?

i want a decent reliable graphic card that is cheap (less then $125) taht is reliable and can most modern games, it is a replacement for my Sapphire Ati 9200 SE 128mb and i want a decent one, with dvi out. i just dont know which to buy tho that can play moderm games (half life2, far cry, i personally dont like doom3 lol so thats not on my list, S.T.A.L.K.E.R and ne other games)

suggest anything that is good and worth the moeny, it can be nivida or ati.

well for $140 you have a 9800
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-369&depa=1

for $131 a 9800se
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-303&depa=1

Otherwise for $129 there's a 9600XT
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...164-008&depa=1

Anything lower won't handle much I'm afraid, but in an emergency there's always the 9600pro

I have a 5700 Ultra, which is awesome playing today's games such as doom 3, and older ones such as halo. Real nice, very pleased with it. I believe it is around 120 or 130 right now on newegg.

I would go with the 9600XT right now, it is a good deal for the price range you are loking in.

I agree, however I would stay away from the 9800 SE, I think the 9600XT could outperform that card from a gaming standpoint.

Check out the 9700 Pro (Ebay - I got mine there) I had the 9800 SE and it didn't perform close to the 9700pro.

Tell me if you can find one, I haven't been able to.
Newegg only stocks the AIW.

9700pro was discontinued when the 9800pro came out. You'll have trouble finding it, and the only one I found which was not AIW was about $260 on an obscure site.
Go 9800

The 9600XT performed well for everything I used it with. At the time though, I was only playing NFS Underground, GTA Vice City, and Dead to Rights. If I were going with a 9600, I would take the XT over the pro.

Well, it'll handle them but you won't be able to play the latest games at decent frame rates and settings. 9800 is best bang for buck for you at the moment I'd say.
