DVI vs. 12ms and 600:1 Contrast Ratio
hey everyone i am about to buy an lcd monitor and am torn between two models in my price range one is a Princeton that has DVI, a 16ms response time and 450:1 contrast ratio here
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...008-019&DEPA=0 or the samsung that has no DVI but a 12ms response time and a 600:1 contrast ratio here http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...001-172&DEPA=0 i cant decide and was wondering which is really more important DVI or a lower response time, 16ms is not bad anyway but the contrast ratio is way higher in the samsung as well i will be playing games such as half life 2 on it so the gaming performace is the most important thing any help would be greatly appreciated Last edited by kingoftowns; 12-07-2004 at 01:46 AM. |

Well, assuming both have the same panel type, you won't see the difference between 12ms and 16ms response time. However, I couldn't find any information about the panel type on the Princeton. The Samsung has TN, which is a very fast panel overall, so that's a very good choice, and it also has a higher viewing angle, and, as you said, a higher contrast.
Samsung is a good brand. I don't know about Princeton, though. If there really is no other model in that price range with similar specs, but DVI, then I'd get the Samsung. RJ
