Formats to burn my dvd's...please please help
ok well im trying to figure this problem out so i can make my dvd's....
All of the dvd's i copy onto my HDD through DVD Shrink, go smooth...straight to my HDD no problem.. They all are in VOB format...which i think is correct... But then either wen i use roxio, or Ulead factory to burn the dvd's, it says it can not because some of the files are in AC3 format....What do i have to do to burn these files to dvd?? ive been trying to figure this out forever. But then i read that it need to be in VOB format to be able to be burned? can someone please explain this to me so i get it and what i need to do to burn these files?? Thanks alot guys.. i really need help |

"But then either wen i use roxio, or Ulead factory..."
Neither of these programs can accept raw .vobs and make a proper dvd. If you have Nero, just drop all the .vob and .vts files into the VIDEO-TS folder (after selecting DVD Movie from the icons), and burn. The other option is to just let DVDShrink do all the work. Yup, forget Roxio or the other programs. You are already using DVD Shrink, then let DVD Shrink use DVD Decrypter to burn. When you're done and click on "backup" in DVD Shrink, there you can select "Burn with DVD Decrypter", and DVD Shrink will invoke DVD Decrypter and burn.

No, I said IF you have Nero...the other option is to let DVDShrink do it, as RJ has explained

Possibly nothing. Are you positive your player can read dvdr, either + or - ?
Check your player against the list here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers |

It means you don't have a proper, blank dvdr in your burner, or you have selected the wrong device.

Two possible problems (that I can see from this far away).
1. Windows has given up on your drive, or 2. The drive has quit working. To test, open device mangler, and remove the drive(s) from it (uninstall). A restart should redetect the device, and if not, you can try the add hardware wizard from device mangler. If it still fails, open the case, remove and reseat all plugs on all cables, to and from that drive to the motherboard. Try again. If it still fails, get the drive tested. There is lots of software you can use. Even Nero comes with a drive speed tester, just Google it. You could try a firmware update, although that isn't the problem, but it will tell you if the drive is recognized by windows properly. |

I use DVD Shrink too. But if u get a movie that is longer than like 2hrs it will say it will not fit. So make sure you edit the opitons. This site helped me a lot when i was editing the options. http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg...ink31-main.htm
