AGP8x vs Pro
Was considering purchase of ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe MB. For the video slot it says - 1 x AGP Pro/8X (1.5V only). Not sure about the emphasis on the 1.5V only. How can I determine if my video card will work in it? It is a Sapphire Technology with ATI Radeon 9600. Supposed to be compatible with AGP 8x/4x. (Currently running 4x on an older board.) Thanks.

On old boards, there used to be 3.3v slots and matching 3.3v cards. All video cards made in the last few years are 1.5v, so you don't have to worry too much about compatability.
The card in question will work.

That's good news. Many thanks for the replies!
Anywhere, webwise, I can read up on this sort of subject matter? Couldn't find anything on a quick search of pemech - doesn't mean it isn't there. Thanks again. |
