I thought AGP X8 was designed to utilize the system RAM.
PCI doesn’t utilize System RAM. So does this mean that PCI-E doesn't utilize system RAM like AGP does? |

AGP8X and PCI-E graphics cards utilize their own built in RAM called Video RAM (vRAM). It's the "128MB" or "256MB" you see after the graphics card model lately. The only card that can utilize the system memory along with its built in memory is the nVIDIA GeForce 6200 with Turbocache, which IMO has mixed feelings of its usefulness. After all, the memory IS being used a lot.
