This just cracks me up. I think it's so cool. It's pretty basic and simple but if you've never changed your Windows sounds you should try it. I downloaded a free program called Audacity that lets you rip audio from DVDs. Then I stuck in my Gone in 60 Seconds DVD and ripped audio from the section when Nicholas Cage is stealing "Eleanor" the Shelby Mustang. You hear him start up the car, rev the engine and take off screaching his wheels. Then I saved it as a .wav file and I made that my startup sound thus replacing the normal windows music that you hear when you startup your computer. So now when I start my computer you hear this awesome high horsepower hotrod engine turn over and rev. Then I put in my 2010 Space Oddysey DVD and went to a scene when this scientist dude is telling his talking computer (SAL) that he has to shutdown some of it's systems and basically turn it off and the computer says, "I would like to ask a question,... Will I dream?" and the scientist says "of course you will dream, all intelligent creatures dream, nobody really knows why". And I made that my shutdown sound. So now when I shut off my computer, it asks if it will dream. I think it's so damn funny. I also recorded the drill sargeant from Full Metal Jacket saying stuff like "Why you little maggot, you make me want to vomit!" Maybe I'll make that the error sound.
