Can't load audio drivers on XPwSP2

Trying to load drivers for CMI high definition audio (integrated on ASUS P5AD2e premium MB) but cannot load. Running WinXPpro with SP2. I have downloaded the drivers from ASUS site, and also have the driver CD that came with the MB. The CMI icon does appear in the control panel, but I can't open it to configure the audio. What little information I can find online says that WinXP with SP1 is needed. I have tried downloading and installing SP1, but the computer won't accept it as "SP2 is newer". Any ideas?

its probably not to do with service pack 2, sometimes it only installs the program for the sound card and the drivers have to be installed separately. Go to control panel, system, device manager and check to see if there is a little exclamation mark next to the sound card, if there is then click install driver and tell it to search in the correct folder on the cd. Hope this helps
