need advice on 19" tft's
HI,
ive been asked to advice on the purchase of a number of tft screens for a control room where a number of people are monitoring some security somewhere. (the details are not exactly clear to me). but annyway they need to monitorvideo, lots of numbers and graphics (the businesskind not the gaming-kind) my question is this; what should i be looking for, what would make the ideal screen for this situation, what values should be the ideal values (on the tech-spec-sheet) thank you in advance |

Hi,
well, since more people look at many monitors, I'd say you need TFTs with good viewing angles. Otherwise, all today's TFTs are good enough. Response time is no issue here, therefore I'd go with an MVA or PVA panel, as they have CRT-like viewing angles and a high contrast ratio. And I'd also get TFTs with DVI, for best image quality. RJ

I recently moved up from a 17" lcd (Solarism) to a 19" Princeton Technologies. Primary reason I chose this brand is the $100 rebate makes the price under $300 after the rebate. The specs and reviews were also very good. Refresh rate is a tad slow, like most 19" units but I'm not a gamer either so it works great for me. This is a great unit. I'd highly recommend it. Has both analog and digital inputs, high contrast ratio and good viewing angles.
