Dual Monitor questions
Hi,
new to the boards here and i just had a few questions on setting up two monitors. #1 whats the best/cost-efficient video card out there for this, i'm looking for a pci card with two outputs, preferably a radeon. #2 whats the best/cost-efficient monitor out right now, not looking for anything too expensive, and should i go crt or lcd? i'm using lcd right now, or does that not even matter. I'm currently running a radeon 9200 pci 128mb - only got one output; so i'm looking for a good second card so i can have two maybe three monitors ~thanks |

What do you plan on doing with your dual monitor setup?
If you plan on gaming, look at any of the higher end Radeon cards, the 9600, 9700, and 9800 PRO cards would be a cost effective, but still good start, which support dual monitors. However, if you want something fancy like triple, or quad displays, they you are looking at a high-end Matrox card, in the $200-700 range, and it wont be good for gaming... 2D quality will be great though. If we are just looking at price, CRTs, are way cheaper. |

ok, i've been looking around and found these video cards:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...131-237&depa=0 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...129-028&depa=0 they're about the same, just different manufacturers. i've always liked powercolor, but i'm not sure as to which one is "better". o and these cards can support dual monitors right? |

Since you wouldn't be using the PCI card for games a Radeon 7000 will work fine.
