Faint Microphone

I start recording with my mic and I have to get on top of it to barely hear it whatsoever, the microphone volume is all the way up and I can't seem to find any drivers for it. It's a cheap Labtec that worked just fine on my other computer. Help would greatly be appreciated.

See if you can raise the input volume in your sound card's "control panel"

If your sound card doesn't have a tray icon that links to this, try going to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Sounds and Audio Devices. Under "Volume", click the" "advanced" button, and see what you can do there.

Been there, done that.
Advanced didn't let me do anything other than enable microphone or disable it.
