Hi all,
Here's the deal: I have a SoundBlaster Live DE! 5.1 sound card, as can be seen from my sig. Now this card has been working fine and giving me really great audio. I have been using the KX Project's drivers for this card, and they are really good. A few days ago, however, I changed out the PC stereo speakers (Creative SB-S20 stereo) connected to the front audio port (the rear port is occupied by my Stereo Player and it's speakers), and tried attaching a pair of Bose speakers that my bro-in-law brought down from England, just to see how they sounded. Since then the SB Live! card has been making a noise that is just like when you say "De-De-De-" in the title of this post. I have tried removing it, cleaning the drivers up using Driver cleaner, and reinstalling it on both the same and in another PCI slot. I have had no luck getting this card to work. It just keeps making that sound all the time. It does not matter which drivers I use (KX Project, Creative's drivers that came with the card, or Windows XP's native drivers for this card). I am therefore currently using the motherboard's onboard sound. Is this card fried? If not, what else might be wrong with it that can maybe be fixed? All help appreciated, NPP

Sounds like it's a goner, have you tried it in another machine?
