Video display question

Don't know if this is the right place to post this or really if I can give a good description of the problem.

The output on the monitor does not scroll smoothly with the mouse wheel when going from the top of the page viewed to the bottom. Thought it was the video settings but none of them that I changed seemed to make a difference. Started when the machine was changed from dialup to broadband internet.

Was wondering if possibly the problem was insufficient memory on the video card. Mobo (ASUS I believe, can't remember what I used a couple of years ago) had built in video but was working fine with the dialup.

My dad had that same problem when he switched to DSL. How much RAM do you have?

System ram is 256 and I "think" that video is 32, probably shared since it is onboard. Athlon 1700XP and WinXP pro.

System could probably use 512 but the same configuration is in use by a companion computer that my other daughter has and she has great broadband speed and does not have this synch problem.
