How can I hook my PC's audio up to a home theater receiver? I've got a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card that is right now hooked up to Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers (via the little green plug). The sound quality really kicks some serious butt however I would love to hook it up to either a killer stereo receiver or HT receiver with REAL speakers and a REAL sub. I've got a Sony ES STR-DA7ES receiver with a touchscreen remote. The thing is freakin' LEGENDARY in the home theater world. So how the heck do I do it? Create a custom cable to go from the sound card to my receiver?

Those Klipsch speakers are "real" speakers. you would need to spend quite a bit of money on a good component theater system to beat the Klipsch speakers.

Oh don't get me wrong dude. I'm a Klipsch fan. The speakers and sub in my home theater system are Klipsch too. Yeah, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system are AWESOME PC speakers but they only pack like 50 watts. They can only go so loud and that small sub is a little weak especially compared to a REAL home theater sub. I'd love to get some Klipsch SB-3s and a KSW-10 or KSW-12 hooked up to my PC. I wish a company would come out with some SERIOUS HIGH END PC speakers.

I HAVE FOUND THE ANSWER! Here is a link that explains it all. It's very simple and easy. All you need is a cheap $8 Radio Shack cable...

OK, since you probably want 5.1 sound you can't use the digital output on that card. It only puts our stereo sound from the digital output.
Since it looks like your reciever has a multi-channel input you will need three cables like THIS. If you need longer cables you could use regular RG-6 cable and adapters like THIS to make cheap, good quality cables. Also, take a look at THIS guide. EDIT: Quote:

HI HO, good job on that guide. You rock. Also (off topic) where can I find a full sized pic of the 'Stang in your avatar?

I don't remember where I got them but I have the same picture in multiple colors (thanks to PhotoShop). I'll email them to you since you have an email account that will accept larger attatchments.
EDIT: I emailed them. They weren't as big of files as I thought. Only .22 MB for all of them. See if you can guess which one is original.
