Dual Monitors on FX 5200
Hi, thanks for reading.
I plugged in a 2nd monitor that has just been sitting around, I was using it from time to time to work on and build other systems, but I thought it would be nice to have dual monitors while it is not being used. Especially since my video card has dual vga. I plugged it in, booted the computer, I saw the text in both screens and the windows xp image in both screens, then when it went to the desktop, the new monitor went black and I can't seem to get it to work. I'm sure I'm missing something simple. Thanks, Mark. EDIT--- I think I got it, I reinstalled my drivers and at first it loaded the 2nd as a clone. I should be able to get it in a few minutes. I'll let you know.

You have to go go into display properties and enable that second monitor and set one to be the primary display monitor.

Yeah, I was wanting to launch Nvidia Settings, and have the icon in my taskbar, the only way I could remember how to get it was to reinstall the driver. I wanted to mess around a bit and get it just right.
![]() Extend my Windows Desktop wasn't check at first , that's why it was black. My wife doesn't understand why I did this, she thinks I'm a junkie. Please tell her there are many benefits to having a 2nd monitor. I know someone out there will back me up.

Don't worry, she'll come around eventually.
My wife thought I was a bit of a dork for getting our system on dual monitors too. Then a few days later I come into the room and there's my sceptical little wife with Solitaire on one screen and her e-mail and MSN on the other screen. Don't worry, I rubbed it in for at least 20 minutes!!

That's so good to know bro, and thanks for the image. I just updated my sig.
Been folding for about 1/2 a year now on both computers, my old one is in mydaughters room and I have it installed as a service so she doesn't even know it's running. |

![]() Looks great... and running as a service sounds familiar. It's just easier than explaining it!
