is it possible to hook up a dvd player to a computer?
i sent my lady some movies that she wanted to watch, but they were dvds and she does not have a dvd player.......i was wondering if she bought a regular dvd player for her tv, would she also be able to hook it up to ehr computer and watch movies on her pc monitor? thank you

You can connect a DVD player to a computer only if the computer has a video-in jack (it's not standard on every computer. Only TV cards, video capture cards and a few graphic cards have that kind of jacks).
The best and cheapest way is to just get a DVD-ROM drive for the computer. The playback is then done by the playback software, and you'll see the original DVD quality on the PC monitor. In fact, if you connect a DVD player to the PC via S-Video, there is no way that the image on the monitor is better than the TV. Too much quality loss (digital signal gets converted to analog, then digitized again). Only with a DVD-ROM drive you'll get an image that does look better than on the TV. RJ
