ATI Guide Plus problems

I have ATI's All in Wonder 9800 Pro. It has a built in TV tuner that works fine for the most part. I have problems when I try to use it with the Guide Plus software that came with it. It's a program that allows you to see TV listings in your area and then set up to record them.

My issue is that it won't work unless the TV tuner is running. It will still record if TV is minimized, but it will maximaze it when it starts recording. So if something is set up to record in the midle of the night all of a sudden the TV comes on! Also, it won't close the after it's done recording so the TV window is on all night. Seems like it shouldn't work this way but I can't figure out any tweaks to solve the problem.

Yes, a succinct answer

I also have an ATI AIW 9800 Pro and I'm not sure I understand the problem. The "Guide" is just that, a TV guide. I've never tried recording with it open. Maybe that's the difference. I also have to have the "TV" part running to record...I figure that's just the way it works: it has to be "turned on" to work.

I looked around in the settings / options and don't see a "Shutdown when finished" option. So, as with other programs that don't shut down when finished, I do like reboot suggests, I turn off the monitor when unattended for long periods of time.

Angry Fire ATI Guide Plus problem

Everytime I download/update a new schedule, it starts with tomorrow's date and not today's. It's always a day ahead. I've done everything I can think of. I've even re-installed the software again.

How can I get my ATI Guide Plus schedule to show today's date???

After struggling with ATI's tuner program and guide plus, I finally gave up. I found the software to be very unstable. I spent the $69 and got Beyond TV. It is realiable and works "behind the scenes" . I have come to the conclusion the ATI's bundled software is weak.

Does Beyond TV get all your channels?? That is one problem with Guide Plus (at least in my area) and that is it gets only about 70% of the few channels I get on my basic cable.

Yes, it gets all my channels. When I first set it up there were 2 choices for San Francisco Comcast. The first choice missed some channels. The second option captured everything.
