Can hear microphone in speakers but programs aren't picking it up.
Its in the microphone slot in the soundcard. My speakers are on the proper output. I can hear myself through the speakers when I unmute Microphone in volume controls. If I mute Microphone in volume controls I don't hear the mic through the speakers anymore. When I try and use Sound Recorder, muted and unmuted in volume controls, I get no audio waves or sound recorded by the program. It is also not working for TeamSpeak.
I have done a google search for this problem, the only suggestion I have seen that could work for me is that another application, other than volume controls, has muted my microphone somehow. But I really don't want to search through 30+ apps blindly looking for some microphone mute toggle. My microphone was being picked up by my computer properly 3 weeks ago. Anyone have experience similar to this? |

Go to control panel/sound and audio devices to see what is the defaults are for recording.
