Deskpro EN (P3-1000) No sound playing DVD's
Hiya
Brand new here so don't give me a kicking if smeone has asked this recently (I doubt it!) Just replaced the CD drive in this small ff deskpro with a Sony DVD/Cdrw unit. Set it up with Media Player 10 (with DivX and Xvid codecs) and also installed Nero Showtime... finally got both to play the DVD picsby reducing the screen resolution to 800x600, but still no joy at all with sound. Plays VCD's okay with sound, but not genuine DVD's. WMP10 brings up the menu, but Nero does not... have to go hunting for the files (a real pain). The machine is running WinXP-Home SP2, and there are no updates outstanding. Next step might be a seperate soundcard unless someone can solve this mystery for me... please.

A guess - is digital audio enabled on the DVD drive?
