Video Card Questions

Hello:

I'm looking into upgradeing my 9600 Radeon. I'm trying do do a little research. I've narrowed down what I want to upgrade....something in the AIW series. The rest of the stats are in my sig for review. I'm not sure which card in the Radeon AIW series would be good. If I purchased a 9600XT (aiw) would I notice a difference in performace compared to 9600? And the same goes for the 9800 Pro. What AIW card would give me a noticable difference in graphic quality. Would I have to go all the way to the X800's $400 price tag to see results or would something a little lest expensive do the trick. Another question is what will the prices look like by fall? Will they stay at their current level or will they start to dip some? I really do like the x800 aiw, but I can't really afford the depreciation that comes with it. Lastly if I bought one of these cards how long would it last in accordance the softwar on the market.

Recap: I"m looking at a AIW Radeon that: complies with my current hardware; noticably enhances my current graphical experience; maintains a moderate price, and will keep up with up-comming software titles.

Thanks

klutz

I see Newegg has some AIW 9700 Pros in right now. This will blow a 9600XT away. The 9800 Pro is better yet, but not by a whole lot. The X800 is a major step up.

What is your budget - we can better recommend cards that way
You might want to consider a 6600GT for $151 (performs better than a 9800pro), or a X800XL for $280 (as good as a 6800GT - i.e. very high end)

fedz, the poster specified an AIW. Nvidia doesn't make an equivalent card.

Whoops I can't read...

Yes, 9700 pro AIW is probably the best bang for buck AIW at the moment
