No Sound from laptop speaker
I used to have sound coming from my laptop speakers and now all of a sudden I can only get sound when I use the headphones. I haven't installed anything until after the sound went off and I updated the drivers. No indication of anything is wrong with the drivers.

Have you checked to make sure you don't have anything on Mute? I had that problem once after my 6 year old was playing Disney games one day.
Have you gone into the control panel/sounds and audio devices/speaker settings/speaker volume and advanced to make sure you have the correct setup? Have you tried to remove the device and restart the computer letting windows find and install the new hardware? Have you tried to backdate the drivers to use the ones that you knew were working? Who made the laptop and how old is it? Have you tried to contact the manufacturer yet to see if this is a known issue?

I read the article but how do I fix it. Just by putting in a heat sink because all I'm getting now is a surround sound effect between the headphones and the speakers and as soon as I unplug the headphone I get 0 sound.
