hp pavilion mx monitor problems

everytime the power goes out (happened 2 times this month) my hp pavilion mx monitor stops working last time I took it apart (carefully so I didn't get zapped) and right when I took the casing of it worked this time I will probably do the same thing. does anyone know what caused this (I have a serge protector on my power strip)?

You need a UPS battery backup.

You plug the computer and monitor into it, and when the power goes out, the battery keeps it running for a while so you can shut it down properly. It also acts as a surge suppressor. You can find them at any computer store or warehouse club.
