nvidia driver problems

I have recently done a clean install and for the first time installed SP2 for win xp pro. after installing the latest nvidia drivers , they work fine for about three or four days untill all the games graphics start becoming distorted and the nvidia logo dissappears of the toolbar. On right clicking on the desktop you can still view all the nvidia options and the drivers are still in the " add/remove programs" option. I guess they have become corrupted but it means i have to remove and re-install every 3 or 4 days. This doesn't take too long but would like to understand why or stop it from occuring.
I am on broadband and play planetside a lot , but have zonealarm and avg7 with all updates. On all virus scans have never had one. Do get a bit of spyware but always removed with either system mechanic spy removal or aol spyware protection.
Has anyone else had a similar prob and solved it?

Try using the nVidea drivers that you where using before the clean install(if they worked ok).
