ATI Radeon 9800 display problems

For some odd reason my brother was toying around with the video card to help boost the video performance of Half Life 2. Ever since hes done this certain programs that use the display color is black and white and shows no graphical texture so to speak

like in the windows media picture its black and white its supposed to blend with the bar not look like that and blank.

this is what windows xp troubleshooting window looks like also

Also at startup when i type the password for my logon instead of a slim text cursor like this | I GET A HUGE BLACK BOX. Its so weird.

Is there something i should be updating or uninstalling or updating...and also my Device manager reads 2 Radeon 9800 and the other one is listed as Secondary. I only have 1 installed. Whats wrong?

That's normal with dual head video cards.

The other problems can probably be fixed if you go through all the advanced display settings and return everything to defaults.
