upgrading laptop video card
I have a Dell Inspiron 1150 and want to upgrade my video card - Dell tells me this can't be done. Are they correct?
Any help appreciated. |

Correct, there are only a handful of laptops with separate video cards - Alienware I beleive may be the only one with units, and even then you are limited to what they offer as replacements.
Laptops are so extrememly custom designed that there really is now way for some one to make their own or upgrade exisitng ones except for some simple items like adding more RAM - or replacing a hard drive with a bigger capacity one. Always buy more laptop than you need today because it IS the config you will have till youi buy the next one.

The 1150 in particular has integrated graphics and no discrete option, so there's no way to upgrade.
