What are the specs of that system? What kind of games will you be playing on it? The 9250 is not a nessecarilly powerful card.

The 9250 is more of a budget card than anything else. It's not a good gamer.

However, it's an excellent general use card and the 256mb will help a lot with video editing. It is NOT a gamer.

Hey guys...

The systems is not used for gaming, it mainly gets used for photo editing, web desing and graphics in general.

The specs are:

Athlon XP 800Mhz
512 2100 DDR Ram

It's probably overkill for that system, I would suggest.

All a system needs for that kind of work is a Radeon 7000, but if that 9250 is cheap enough, why not?

Why would it be an "overkill"?

The system is being upgraded so the above specs will change over the next few weeks...

9250 is probably the cheapest AGP card you will find on the market so just settle for it.
I own the comparable geforce 5200 FX on 4x AGP and I can run halflife 2 on medium settings, and battlefield 2 on low settings, but it still looks nice with no chug. Of course there are other factors to gaming power, but as far as I can tell you will be very satisfied with the 9250 for your needs.

One piece of advice. Try to get the 128-bit version over the 64-bit version for the 9250. The 128-bit version should be a few dollars more, but will have a huge performance increase.

Also, it would be benificial to find a card that has more than just a heatsink. That will highly reduce the chances of a card overheating and dying (which can happen a bit more often with some off-brand VGA card manufacturers). I think you will be satisfied with that card.
