Problem lines with Viewsonic n2000
Hi all,
I have a Viewsonic n2000 LCD tv/monitor. I'm currently using it as a TV and have a cable box, xbox, and PS2 hooked up to it. All three boxes go through a switch, and the switch connects to the TV. I'm using (1st party) component cables for everything so I can enjoy the high definition - and therein lies the problem. Black, horiztonal lines appear seemingly for no reason. It's most notable when using PS2, but I've seen it when using my xbox and cable box too. For example, if I play Gran Turismo 4 every now and then the screen becomes very distorted with these horizontal lines - the image jitters and shakes around. It's unbearable to watch. I've spoken to Viewsonic twice, and their tech support is horrible. This is actually the 2nd model of this TV since I had to have them replace the first due to LCD light leakage... So anyway, what could the problem be? I'm very disappointed because I bought this TV so I could enjoy my games in high-def, but it's impossible when the image gets so distorted. Thanks. |

I would suspect the switch. How does it work connecting a device directly?

Yeah, that's a good idea to rule out the switch. See if that helps. I hate to hear about this. I'm a Viewsonic fan and have been checking out their LCD TVs whenever I go to CompUSA.

I tested without the switch and still had the same problem.
Could it be the refresh rate? The problem seems to occur more often when there's a lot of action going on. For example if I'm racing a city course at night in Gran Turismo 4, or there's a huge pileup in Grand Theft Auto the screen starts jittering a lot. |
