need help choosing a video card
I need a card that will work on a dell dimension 4550. It will be used mainly for the sims 2. I currently have a ati radeon 9550 that i installed a few years back and I think it's time for an upgrade. The power supply on that dell is only 250W I think.
Will these work, and which one is better? Any other suggestions? eVGA 128-A8-N350 Geforce 6600GT 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130220 MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 Geforce 6600GT 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 VIVO AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127150 |

Actually, The Sims 2 has really no reliance on your video card. It's all CPU. Go to Gamespot.com and read the article in the hardware section. A Geforce FX performed the same as a 6800 Ultra.

Tom's Hardware had Sims 2 in their AGP guide:

250W is somewhat wimpy...What are the rest of the parts in the system?

I have the stock cpu, a pentium 4 2.2 ghz, 1 gig of crucial ram, two optical drives and one hard drive. Can I change the power supply with a new one from newegg?

No, it wouldn't be sufficient IMO. And you won't need the VIVO one, I'm pretty sure that capability is more for video editing IIRC

Yeah that would be enough. Damn, that's pricey though. I guess that's what happens with it's a Dell.
