Question REaltek AC97, I cant get one speaker to work on 5.1 system, any help?

I bought a new motherboard that has Realtek AC97 integrated into it. I have a 5.1 system that I used with my old system but I cant get the front left speaker to work. The speaker physcially works I know because I have switched it around and it sounds fine, it just the channel that isnt working. I know everything is hooked up right because I didnt change anything around when I unhooked the 3 speaker cables from my old motherboard when I switched to the new one. The only thing I can figure is that I dont have something configured with the software. Does anyone else have this audio chip and software (I have the newest version of the realtek audio software and driver) and have had this problem? Thanks for any help?
Thanks

If only one channel doesn't work, need to look at the jacks that plug in to the mother board. Also, that paricular socket may have a pin that doesn't touch the speaker jack when plugged in.
