Looking for Asus GeForce 7800 GTX

I need to find an Asus 7800 GTX for less than $490. I have found them down to $460, but I was not ready to buy one then. Any help at all would be great.

Thanks

Here is $495 at newegg... only five bucks more without shipping but thats an expensive card anyway so the little bit more isnt much compared to the price

Here ya go. $450 including freight. Price Grabber gives this vendor some good marks but I have no personal experience with them.

I had found that web site too, but if you click on the link it is just a deadend. Thanks for the link though.

Yup, the link is dead end but when you do a search they do have both the GT and GTX. But this is a clear case of "bait and switch". The GT is the one for $441. The GTX is $571!! Keep lookin'.

You beat me to the post. I was looking the same time you were. I like the price. Thanks for the tip. I am still looking for the GTX, though.

I have two of the cards you are looking for. They are factory clocked at 430MHz which is the base speed for that GPU and they will not clock even an additional 5MHz. I was pretty disappointed with them. I think this may be a bios setting that prevents any overclocking because a 5 mhz increase in speed should not have any negative effect especially from the base speed for this GPU. ASUS does make another 7800GTX card that is clocked at a whopping 510MHz.

In the October issue of CPU magazine on page 20, I see a comparison of 7800GTX cards and in the 3DMark05 comparison the slowest scores at 4563 and the fastest at 5107 in single card mode.

Basicly, not all 7800's are the same speed so take that into consideration when comparing them.

Looks like you found a great deal Spikiest...I paid in the mid $500's for my 7800's a few months ago.

I wouldn't buy anything from Ebay, especially something that expansive. What would you do if it were to die? You'd be SOL and short $480. Getting a new card will get you the ability to return (or RMA) the card within the warranty time period.

I'm guessing you want VIVO that comes with this card? You can get a standard eVGA 7800GTX for $460
