Crisis with my workstation
when a mother board goes bad it just stops working right., it wouldnt start to malfunction at a deteriorating pace would it?
trying to narrow it down to a malfunctioning power supply or video card. when or if it fully boots the screen will lock up and the pixels will smear i was thinking maybe if the power supply was going bad it wasnt giving enought juiuce to everything the little green light on the front of my case fades out too like the life was getting sucked out of it when its trying to boot and cant. also if I hit the reset/restart buttion it doesnt always reset i have to hold in the power button and fully shut it down. All the drive doors will still open and close though its really weird. So I'm thinking either the video card is bad and its having a hard time posting at boot up and if it does boot up then it eventually locks up with a nice pixel smear. or the power supply is going bad and its not giving everything enough juice to run properly. Please help thanks |

well it seems my atx connector wasnt on all the way. just off barely down at the 3.3v orange wires.
I found out by running asus probe that my 3.3v was out of threshold here is the forum i viewed http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/inde...d&t=341308&p=4 I have intel p4 asus p4c800 deluxe 1.5 gig ram 2 120 sata drives dvd+r cdr enlight 420 psu i think it is On asus probe it says my fans arent running fast enough. How do i get them to run faster? I have the fans that come with the thermaltake case. it has like 6 or 7 ornage fans inside so far after getting that atc connector on tight it hasnt crashed..I'm praying thats what it was pretty sure it was though. When I unplugged the connector the orange wire end of it was melted slightly and brown discoloration. Going to keep asus probe running to monitor it. If it starts frying again the probe should notify me so I can take it off and shut down and get a new psu.. If i wasnt so broke Id buy one now. |
