Of ATI and nVidia

I have been a follower of ATI for a long time but i hear that nVdias are quite good b/c they have 24 pixel pipelines vs 16 on an ATI. however, i was wondering if there is a card of either brand, or any other for that matter, that was a better bang for the buck or costs a bit more but the improved performance justifies (sp?) the extra cash. here is what i am looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16814102542R

Also, i see some of more expensive cards with AGP and PCI and PCI Express. isn't AGP an old standard that is far slower than PCI and PCI express? should i go with a cheaper card but with PCI express?

Just so you know; the number of pipe lines varries with the model, series, and chip of both Nvidia and Ati. If your mobo supports it; go with a PCI express card.

Any price range? The 7800gtxs are considered the best on the market now; but can run near 450 to 500 bucks a piece.

I'm assuming this is a new build using PCI-E?

If PCI-E, here's a X800 GTO for $183
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814142052

For $200 you can get the X800 Pro
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102466

Here's a X800 XL for $280, but it has a $30 rebate
