Is it crashing only when you're playing games? How about the power supply? What's yours? Mine was a cheap "350W" PSU, locking the entire system when the game's getting a complex scene, or when I overclocked my card. Then I replaced it with "real 300W" PSU. The problem's simply gone.
Maybe you can try borrow first a good PSU from a friend to check whether it's the problem or not.

Have you tryed unistalling and reinstalling the games? Windows? This has worked for me. If it is not fixed by simply reinstalling then formating the HD and starting over has never failed for me. I have never had a problem with power, I picked up a 600W PS for $30 + shipping at www.computergeeks.com I have been told don't buy cheap PS, but I have been running mine for over a year now, no problems.

Post your full specs and we'll have a look... make sure to include things such as brands, esp of your PSU

Please don't post something as long as a dxdiag report unless specifically asked. We need concise specs. People aren't going to read a huge post, they will generally move on. If you must post a long report, it's best to post as an attachment.

I've been having a similar problem myself, but I think it may be caused by a burned out fan on my video card. It's a geforce4 4600 ti. Could that really be the cause of it? or is could it be more software related?

A busted video card fan would cause the card to overheat, and would shut it down.
