Boom Monitor Shutting Down Randomly!

Greetings All!

Okay, here's the deal...

I'm running a new build (see specs below) and I'm using my old HP Pavilion f50 flatscreen. Been doing some gaming on it (Mostly "Thief 3" right now), but after about an hour or so of playing, the monitor goes into "sleep mode" and the only way to get it back is to reboot.

I have the latest drivers installed for my vid card and it's only OC-ed about 15%. Wouldn't WinXP already have the drivers for the monitor installed? If not, do I have to install new drivers for it? Or could it be something else? I've ordered a PCI vid card fan. Might that help as well?

Thanks!

Did you install the motherboard/chipset drivers from the Cd that came with the motherboard, and yes I would go ahead and get the latest drivers for your vid card either off of the cd that came with it or the mfg.'s website.. How do things look in your device manager?? It could be your memory timing settings in the BIOS also I would check those, and I would go back to default clock settings and see if the problem persists..

Hi.
I'm having the same problems as he is, accept i dont play games on this computer... and i didnt build it. A few years ago i bought this computer and it worked great, then my son did something to it when he went to reformat it. He made it so that i couldnt load any OS on here at all. I took my computer to work and had one of the tech guys fix it and i thought he had. Everything works great except my monitor. After my computers been on for a certain amout of time, even when its not being used, it will go into ''sleep mode'' and it wont come out. I have to reboot my comp to get the monitor to come back on. I have checked all the settings and turned on any sleep mode functions, and i have set my BIOS to the default settings... Plz Help!!! >_<
