ram stick and monitor problem

took out my ram stick to double check which to get. Put it back in.Now my monitor stays black and green light blinks.Computer sounds like it is up. Have made sure stick was in properly already. What else to do?

If all you did was remove the ram module, then logically something has to be wrong with the reinstallation. Recheck that the slot/key are oriented correctly and that the both ends are fully seated allowing the end clamps to insert in the notches. If all is well there, check for something else you may have bumped or loosened. Like a hard drive ide cable or video card.

is it possible that you did not use proper ESD grounding and touched the stick of ram improperly and may have destroyed the ram ?
this could also be the problem which you described.
