Sound card Problem

See guys i just put in my soundcard. Its an SB Live 24 bit. And my speakers are creative labs T5400. 5.1 btw. Well this is my problem. I install my sound card, hooked up that cable...cant catch the name atm...that runs from the my cd drive to the sound card. And plugged in my speakers. And they are plugged in right both ways. Now the problem im only gettin sound from my 2 front speakers. The connection to the sound card is lime green. Well i did a channel check. And it played a sound through all my speakers. So theyre working fine. So why is it that sound is only coming out of my front 2?

Btw, you know there are three connections on the sound card right? Well if i switch one of the other connections to the port where my lime green was, then they work. Like if i plug in the cable thats for my back speakers for example into the port that my front speakers were in...then my back speakers work. So why is it that only 1 port is working. I installed the drivers and everything. Set my sound card to 5.1. Oh btw the third connection on my sound card for the subwoofer works as well. So is my soundcard faulty?

Hi Mr.Ferrari

It could possible be the motherboard settings, on some you have to set the jumpers correctly to redirect the sound to the front or back ports or even both. Check the manual for information.

The motherboard sound jumpers don't affect a card - just the onboard audio.

You don't need the analog audio cable between the CD drive and the card - just use digital audio.

You may have to look at the driver and jack settings carefully.
