Dual monitors, can each run a different resolution?

Right now I have a 15” LCD which supports a max resolution of 1024 x 768, but in the future I would like to buy a 19” LCD and run it in dual with my current 15”. Thing is will I be able to use the 19” in its native resolution (which will obviously be higher than the 15”) and still use the 15” at 1024 x 768? Or with dual monitors do both need to be running at the same resolution?

if you have software that supports it then you should be able to "tag" each monitor and give each a resolution of your choice, prolly down to the drivers

As long as you make the secondary monitor an extension of your desktop, you can run each monitor in any supported resolution you want.

sure, most monitors i believe should detect plug and play. then you just go to properties, settings, then it should show 1 and 2 monitor. Click on the one wanted, and change the screen resolution, its as simple as that.
