Video Card Upgrade
I'm looking to upgrade my video card and have settled on these two partly because they have the 2 DVI inputs I need. I'm hoping to get better performance when running MS Flight Simulator 2004 at 1600x1200 resolution.
One card is 256Mb and the other is 128Mb. All things being equal, which card would be more likely to give better performance? I've been reading various other posts suggesting more memory is not necessarily better. Also, will the upgrade from my current Asus Ti 4200 128Mb even really be worth it? Thanks ![]() XFX PVT43KUDF3 Geforce 6600 256MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card Core clock: 300MHz DirectX: DirectX 9 DVI: 2 Memory Clock: 500MHz Memory Interface: 128-bit OpenGL: OpenGL 1.5 PixelPipelines: 8 Tuner: None TV-Out: S-Video Out VIVO: No Model #: PVT43KUDF3 Item #: N82E16814150086 Or XFX PVT43ANDF3 Geforce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card DirectX: DirectX 9 DVI: 2 Memory Clock: 1000MHz Memory Interface: 128-bit OpenGL: OpenGL 1.5 PixelPipelines: 8 RAMDAC: 400 MHz Tuner: None TV-Out: S-Video Out VIVO: No Model #: PVT43ANDF3 Item #: N82E16814150089 |

Go with the gt. The 6600 migh thave 256mb but only 128bit. So it can only support up to 128mb. And the 6600gt has better specs. Go with da gt.

If you like to crank up the anti-aliasing when you game, go for the 6800GS. The extra pipelines should make a big difference.
