Creative PCI card drivers

Hey guys,

basically this happened before but i cant really remember what i did to fix it. anyways i have this old creative pci card that i think is a little messed up because firstly i use a program called Teamspeak and after a few minutes of talking theres just really bad static noises, there is a possibility its the mic but i have tried a few already. and secondly, i remember going to this control panel option or whatever that let me adjust the hardware acceleration of the sound card and i put it on Basic if i remember correctly - because my video playback kept having glitches etc, and that fixed the problem (if anyone knows where i can find these options once ill get the drivers for the sound card ill be very thankful maybe i can fix the problems there).
also i have the drivers (i think) they're called SBAudioSetup_W2k and i remember them working in the past, and they dont work, basically when i opened the computer up the first time after re-adjusting the card in the pci slot i had a "found new hardware" wizard for Multimedia Media Controller but it just doesn't find a driver there.. i do remember having that wizard in the past and it didn't interfere with the sound playback. and yes ive tried looking through control panel's sound options and its just not listed as one of the playback options there.

Please help me out guys :-)

Thanks,

ok guys,

now the computer doesn't even load up.. i think its because its looking for the creative drivers during startup and cant find them, im on safe mode with networking atm..
basically i tried uninstalling the creative drivers and there were 2 entries, 1 cleaned and the other the uninstallation froze or something i guess i was too quick and decided to close that while it froze maybe it just took its time or whatnot.. then i think i tried deleting the "CREATIVE" dir in program files but it failed so i cant remember if i restarted or managed to get it deleted, but anyways i deleted it (i think it was after the restart and then once i deleted i went for another restart in order to start with fresh drivers) and then it didn't boot up basically..

Thanks, will really help if i can please get a quick answer here to get it to bootup and fix the sound issue :-)

have you used the device manager to fully remove the drivers and uninstall the device?
also, consider using msconfig to remove any programs which may be loading incorrectly when you log in
Finally, if your mobo has integrated sound remove the creative card and see if everything works

i havent used the device manager since i wasnt sure it will just delete the previous drivers... i still dont understand why it does it i mean how can it tell if the pci card was disconnected while the comp was off ?!
i will try the msconfig stuff soon enuff getting some help via msn and then will try that as a last resort :-\ if anyone's got more ideas please, shoot ;-)

Thanks,

ok guys.. REALLY long story short, i tried going back to the onboard
nVIDIA MCP2 card
and basically its really messed.. the mic works (i see waves in the recorder and i heard it via my sis' computer, sent to her etc) and the audio doesnt.. believe me i tried EVERYTHING, speakers work, everything is set to high.. nothings muted.. the onboard sound might've been messed up during the flight we had when i just brought the parts of this comp and rebuilt it here.. anyways is there any way the output went bad while the mic jack still works ?!
i am gonna try installing the creative pci card now.. not using any of their progs just the default windows ones and hope for the best
