eVGA 6600GT problem

I put a 6600GT in my brothers computer and when he tried to play WoW, it was all ****ed up looking: http://dm.pxtek.com/wow1.jpg.

He's using DirectX 9.0c

I first tried the recent video drivers from the nVidia website. After seeing WoW didn't work, I uninstalled and installed the ones on the CD. Still no go. I then reinstalled WoW. It worked, but after I patched it, same result.

Before the 6600GT, I had a Radeon 9200SE in it. Things were fine then. WoW worked without no error.

I then tried the game Empire Earth Expansion. The menu came up without any graphical errors, but when I actually got into a game, the texture was screwy. I'd zoom in, texture fine, zoom out, white blocks.

I found out that his crappy motherboard's AGP is 2x. Could this be why?

AGP 2X works, but 200W PSU, no matter how quality it is, is going to struggle staying alive. Is this a self-built or a manufacturer-built system?

Eh, the motherboard is unknown. It only supports SDRAM. I tried my 450WATT in it, and it still got the same problem... I don't know what the problem is. I upgraded to the recent drivers and everything.. Using the ATI Radeon 9200SE works...

try a driver cleaner.

i've seen similar things from not-completely-uninstalled ATI drivers.

uninstall nvidia drivers, uninstall any ATI drivers. download driver cleaner pro from http://www.drivercleaner.net/, first run it with ATI as the cleaning selection, then with nvidia as the cleaning selection. then reboot, and install nvidia drivers again.

Tell you the truth, that is the most likely reason. I first uninstalled ATI then installed nVidia without restarting. Anyways.. I put the 6600GT in my dads computer. He has a TV Tuner, when I went full screen with it, the top part (about 15% of the top screen) was all fuzzy or whatever.. Anyone know why? He has a 350W PSU, 1.3GHz AMD Athlon (or Duron, can't remember, old computer)
