What is that white slot next to the blue slot on the video card output ports? I mean the card came with a piece that hooks into it and then your monitor can hook into that. What exactly is that for? the jack thing is white next to the blue.

The white port on the back of the video card is the digital output for connecting to a digital monitor.

What exactly does that mean? Better resoulution? Quality? what? How do i tell if mine is digital?

You will find DVI ports on LCD monitors, they make for a very crisp clear picture. They nearly eliminate the signal degradation that would come using a VGA port in which the signal goes from digital to analog.
