Error Message when installiing Quick Time

Error 46: Could not load or find the QuickTime ActiveX control.

Try to uninstall Quicktime in safe mode and then try to install the standalone player. I did a search for this and this is what is suggested.

If that doesn't work, go and download Quicktime Alternative. I don't have Quicktime installed on my machine and I use this program instead. You can get it here:

I give Quicktime Alternative a big thumbs up. None of that extra apple crap they like to install.

If he just wants Quicktime the alternatives are fine, If he wants to load iTunes eventually he can't use them.
It sounds like he's got ActiveX blocked by his security software.
If he's using IE it's now disabled there by default as well.
jlw, did you disable your security software ( anti-virus and anti-spyware ) before you tried installing Quicktime?
What security apps are you running?

I have Itunes installed without having Quicktime installed and am able to use it fine.
