Try to uninstall Quicktime in safe mode and then try to install the standalone player. I did a search for this and this is what is suggested.
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html If that doesn't work, go and download Quicktime Alternative. I don't have Quicktime installed on my machine and I use this program instead. You can get it here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...lternative.htm Scomac |

I give Quicktime Alternative a big thumbs up. None of that extra apple crap they like to install.

It sounds like he's got ActiveX blocked by his security software. If he's using IE it's now disabled there by default as well. jlw, did you disable your security software ( anti-virus and anti-spyware ) before you tried installing Quicktime? What security apps are you running?
