Video Cards
What video cards would you get for a pci express x16 slot and to link them together.(I know there is a computer term for that but I can't think of it) I'm looking for the best performance to price card. I want to use the computer for gaming and all around awesomeness.

The term you are looking for is Nvidia's SLi tech (Or crossfire for ATi's version). As far as I know with Nvidia's stuff, they have a few cards which are SLi ready. some of the 6600 and 6800 series have SLi capabilities I believe. Im not sure about what cards ATi has for their crossfire as it is a very new technology.

You're talking about nVidia's SLI: Scalable link interface. It's really up to your budget - obviously, linking the flagship 7800GTX 512 together won't give you a very good price-performance point, but anything below it is fair game.

On the same note pairing two low end cards together wouldn't be effective either. One 6800GT will be better than two 6600GT's...

Is there a good price-performance point for SLI? Are 2 x 7800 GT's better than 1 7800 GTX? How about 2 x 6800 ultras? Are they better than 1 7800 GT? Can you even find the ultras anymore?

Before you simply look at SLI card price points, factor in the additional cost for a SLI motherboard and power supply.

Ive heard some people say that some single PCI-E video cards, in a system that is tuned correctly, can perform just as well as an SLi build. I think some can even perform better.

There's currently no need for SLI. For the price/perforance gains, the only benefit is upgradability. The only real benefit to SLI would be bragging rights, since even upgradability is relatively pointless. Clock speed and raw processing power are not as prevailent as new technology, which will make even the 7800GTX cards obselete a year from now. DX9? Pfffft... you need DX10. DDR3? What kinda crap is that? You need GDDR5.
