I have got a document from word pad on my computer. Is there any way that i can change it to a word document to open it in microsoft word?

Can't you just : Copy And Paste it into a blank Word Doc. Then, save it.

right click -> open with Word should work as well

Wordpad native format is Word 6.0 .doc and will open seamlessly in any version of Word from 6.0 up. Unhide your extensions and verify it's a .doc.
