Hey guys. It's been awhile since I have run into a problem I coulndn't fox, but here it is. I have a dual monitor set up with a Samsung Syncmaster 793mb 17" monitor and a NEC Multisync FE 700+ and a ATI Radeon 9800XT video card. The problem is on the syncmaster I get strange red lines radiating from right to left. They don't go away when i use the degauss function. I am thinking they are artifacts on the video card but i cant tell. It usually happens when the monitor comes out of being asleep, but today the lines were covering almost all the screen, they dissappered and reappered 2 times while I was working. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Couple of things to try, swap monitors to see if the problem follows the monitor or the port on the video card. Try different video cable. Reseat the video card and clean dust out at that time.

Did all that. Problem followed the port. I went out and bought a 7800 GS OC
. I said I would never switch to nVidia, but I also thought ATI was going to stay in the game. Lovin the new card and the problem is gone. If it comes back I guess it was the monitor.
