splat 19'' Triniton, random Auto-off problem

Hey,
im new to the threads.
but i have a 19' dell trinitron UltraScan p991 moniter.
it has amazing picture.
but when opening programs and opening web pages
the whole screen stretchs, like its resizing. Then just turns off, with the blinking yellow LED.
this happens every other page or progam i open
and is a really big hassle to keep turning the moniter on every 40 second
any advice?
settings are correct, to my knowledge, as in Resolution and hertz
screen centered, and great picture, no discolorations or horizontle lines.
it just stretches and clicks off,
even turned off powersave mode,
happens mostly when opening a full size/screen window

please get back to me asap,
i really need your guys help

thanks a lot,
g funk

What resolution, color depth, and refresh rate are you using? What video card are you using?
