My Radeon 9600 pro's fan is making weird noises

Hey guys i havent been here for a while so i'd like to re-welcome myself. Its making a buzz sound kind of like a cell phone vibrating and i know its coming from the fan. Is there any way to fix it? Would anyone know what might be the problem?

See if you can tighten the screws holding it on the heat sink. If they're tight and/or that doesn't work, chances are that the fan is going. You can either see if you can find a replacement, or RMA the video card back to ATi (that is, if it's an ATi branded card, and not sapphire or powercolor or some other brand).

I had the exact same problem on my 9600XT. The fan was making an odd sound. I just wound up building a new computer so I never really troubleshot the issue. However, I did find this quick fix afterward. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186114

You can try removing the card and blowing the dust out of the fan and heatsink - that can often cure noises.
