Manage MP3 Files
Hi folks, I hope this is in the correct place to post. I have a problem trying to record and manage MP3 files.
I have Nero 6, and have downloaded Lame and have it working and have made several MP3 encoded CD's to play in my truck...they work, first hurdle passed LOL. I have an Alpine CDA-9825 Head Unit and a Alpine CHA-S634 CD Changer, the changer plays the MP3 files. I can search files with the head unit and get some information IE: artist but that is all. My question is...Do I need some additional software to manage the files and add the data like the artist, genera, album title, track title? or am I not setting up the MP3 burn files correctly? Nero does not list the song titles. I did a WMA using Windows Media Player and all of that information was there but I don't know if the changer will play WMA files....I doubt it as they are not mentioned in the documentation. If there is software out there that does this, manage music files, lets you search for songs, music type, etc. is there one you would recommend over another? What I want to be able to do is record a bunch of my music CD's in MP3 format and to be able to see what album title and song is playing or be able to search through the disc and find a particular song, artist, or album. Many thanks in advance from an "Old Dog trying to learn new tricks".

I always use Audiograbber for ripping CD's, it has a built in option to use the "freedb" tool that will allocate the correct artist, album and song title for you, I then use Nero 6.3 to burn the tracks to CD and as far as I can remember all the track information comes up on the head unit in the car.
I haven't done it since I was back in the UK because my Pontiac just plays the music by track with no information.
