HELP sound NOT working

my sound has not worked since i recieved this computer from a friend who bought it from Future Shop in Red Deer AB

when I check my device manager it tells me that some of my files are corrupt or missing mostly for the onbord sound card. The specs for my computer are as follows and i am typing them straight from the cicerotechnology.ca site that i checked and downmloaded all the 'new' updates

i have system error sounds when trying to open things like windows media player but nothing else i am getting increasingly frustrated i have tried every thing i can think of to try and download and fix this problem any ideas or links to programs that may help this problem greatly appreciated
