HTPC Connection
I'm thinking about building a HTPC but I'm not sure what parts I need to include. Obviously, the primary task it will be used for is listening to digital music on my surround sound and recording TV. So-that means I have to connect it to my a/v receiver as well as have a TV tuner. I am assuming I would then have two cable connections coming from my box since I'd want one for the PC and the other still going to my receiver and/or TV. I do not want to use the PC solely, but just as an addition so will I ultimately just hook it up as another device along with XBOX, DVD player, etc. to the receiver and access it via an input. Will I need a seperate video card or will the S-video on a TUner card work fine. I am new to this all. ALso will I be better off building one or buying a slim one from a manufacturer. Are there motherboards that include component video connections?

What you may want to look at is one of the ATI All-in-Wonder video cards. It does everything.
