Which is faster Nivida 6 or 7?

hi,

i am going to upgrade my AGP GPU. and i was wondering which would be faster... The highest card of the 6 seris or teh lowest card of teh 7 seris?

It really depends on the card... can you give us the models you were looking at? As a really general rule, the more expensive card is better, but let us know what you're considering so we can help you get the best performance for your money.

The higher generation will perform better. Not to mention, a card will out-perform two of it's predecessors most of the time.

A 7900GT is better than a 6800GT, but I'm not sure if a 7300GT is better than a 6800GT.

which is better: 6800XT(flasgship 6seris) or 7300(lowest 7)

Not necessarily true (i.e 5900 Ultra vs. 6200 or 6800GT vs. 7300). It would be true for higher generation cards of the same class within their generation though: like obviously a 7800 is a lot better than a 6800.

Off the top of my head, I would think the better 6 series card outperforms the worst 7 series.

You could expect more raw power out of the 6 series, but more features out of the 7 series such as higher quality rendering or something of that sort. To my knowledge, the 7 series doesn't have any huge advantages. Seeing how a GT model would be pushed pretty far already, the lower 7 series would probably have a bigger overclocking threshold.
